Sandy's Famous Hot Dogs was founded in 1979 by Bud Sanderson. Mr. Sanderson opened the first store in Lexington, South Carolina. It was and is still a big hit. We opened more stores as time went on and moved several to new locations. We are very proud of the food we serve, the way it is prepared, and presented to our loyal customers. At Sandy's, we do our best to serve only the freshest and finest ingredients. Our hot dogs are custom, pure certified Black Angus Beef, made for us and only us. This is done to insure that no matter which of our 4 locations you choose to dine in, you know you are getting the best hot dog the world has ever known. These hot dogs are top quality.The buns we use are top cut to provide only the best experience for a hot dog and the person enjoying its delicious taste. We do this so that not only the dog but any or all of the toppings will stay on until the last bite. The list of toppings is extensive, offering a wide variety of combinations. The best part is each hot dog is made when you order it and the way you order it, which means if you only want mustard and ketchup that's what you'll enjoy. For the more adventurous, we can provide our homemade chili, homemade coleslaw, homemade pimento cheese, sauerkraut, shredded cheddar cheese, nacho cheese, and/or relish.
Hot dogs aren't the only thing we serve. We offer several deli style bun sandwiches. Such as our Grilled Pimento Cheese, Classic Grilled Cheese, Chicken Salad, and Ham or Turkey. All of these are made on white, wheat, or rye bread. The Ham and Turkey can be made all the way with mustard, mayonnaise, lettuce and tomato. We are also quite fond of our pulled pork barbecue sandwich. This is shipped in fresh as needed from Siler City, North Carolina. It is a true North Carolina Vinegar Based treat. If you are feeling a little spicy we offer Nachos. This wonderful snack, which is big enough for a meal, can be made with any or all of these classic toppings: Nacho cheese sauce, chili, or jalapenos.
For some of our customers though, its not about any of these things that brings them through the doors. It is our Ice Cream. Sandy's is proud to have in stock, at all locations a large and varied selection. All of these are served in cups or cones. Our scoop sizes are Kiddie, just enough, 1 scoop for the seasoned ice cream enthusiast and 2 scoop for the ice cream lover, who can never have enough. We also make shakes, malts, sundaes, and banana splits. The Banana Split is HUGE! It contains 3 large scoops of ice cream, a banana, and is topped with Strawberry topping, Pineapple topping, Hershey's Chocolate Syrup, wet walnuts, whipped cream, and a cherry. We at Sandy's prefer the original with Vanilla, Strawberry, and Chocolate, but you are welcome to choose any 3 flavors you would like and all or as many of the toppings you want.
